Knightdale is one of the up and coming areas in the Triangle. While it's still small, it is growing and the Town appears to be making careful and thoughtful decisions about managing that growth well and taking citizens ideas and desires for their home into consideration. Read on to see what the locals already love about living in Knightdale!

Affordability

Knightdale was recently voted the #3 most affordable places to live in North Carolina. Many times affordability comes with some negative factors...bad location, high crime, crazy traffic.

But Knightdale has none of these. If anything I would say the reason Knightdale is so affordable is because it is undiscovered.

Knightdale has the 2nd lowest housing prices in all of Wake County at a median value of $238,000.

Another affordability boon to Knightdale is that many ares are USDA loan eligible. USDA loans are government loans similar to VA and FHA which are insured by the Federal Government and offer low and no downpayment options for borrowers. The USDA program is specifically designed to bring development to rural areas. Eligibility is based on location (among other things)...it must be in a designated rural area. A large part of Knightdale qualifies for these $0 down loan programs.

Location

While many affordable areas are not conveniently located, Knightdale is just minutes away from big city amenities.

  • Downtown Raleigh - 15 Min
  • North Hills 15 Minutes
  • Airport 25 Minutes
  • RTP 30 Min

Safety

Knightdale has been voted one of safest cities in North Carolina by insurance company Safewise. And Knightdale even gives the Town of Cary a run for it's safety money. Look at the map below to see crime rates by city. The color coding makes it really easy to see where the least crime is occurring.

"I moved from the North. Knightdale, NC has allowed my children to grow up with a freedom that I had as a kid. The schools are very family oriented. My kids got to explore, play outside without worrying...They went to camps and made all sorts of diverse friendships. When I go shopping someone always smiles and says hello. I tell everyone that considers moving to NC to check out Knightdale! To me and my family it’s the best place ever to live and raise your children.
