A little bit about Wake Forest

Are you looking for homes for sale in Wake Forest? The town was named after the nearby Wake Forest College (now Wake Forest University), which moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1956. Today that campus is occupied by Southeastern Baptist Seminary. Wake Forest has a population of approximately 50,000 residents and is known for its historic downtown, outdoor recreational opportunities, and family-friendly atmosphere.

Wake Forest is home to several parks and greenways, including E. Carroll Joyner Park, which offers hiking trails, a playground, and picnic areas. We happen to think that Joyner Park is one of the best, if not the best, park in the Triangle area. We just love the open rolling hills and stone walls of the park. It’s got a great playground too!

The Falls Lake State Recreation Area is also nearby and provides opportunities for boating, fishing, and camping. If canoeing or kayaking is your thing, Wake Forest offers easy access to the Neuse river in addition to Falls Lake.

We compared Wake Forest to Cary in this video. While Wake Forest home prices used to be some of the lowest of the larger suburbs, increasing development and amenities have brought it more in line with other Wake County suburbs.

The downtown hosts coffee shops, breweries, wine shops, and plenty of boutiques. We just love the topography of Wake Forest. It’s just a little bit hillier than some other parts of the Triangle.
